Dr. Towne is a board-certified Anesthesiologist and fellowship trained in Interventional Pain Medicine. Dr. Towne graduated with honors from Tulane University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Economics and Cellular Biology. She then attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, where she embarked on her journey to becoming a physician.
After earning her medical degree, Dr. Towne completed her Anesthesiology residency at UCSD, where she distinguished herself as the Chief Resident of Anesthesiology, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and dedication to her craft. Building on her solid foundation in anesthesia, Dr. Towne continued her training at UCSD to pursue a fellowship in interventional pain management, a specialized field dedicated to helping those who suffer from chronic pain with an emphasis on interventional techniques to treat chronic pain conditions.
Dr. Towne is an esteemed member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, North American Neuromodulation Society, Spine Intervention Society, International Anesthesia Research Society, American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the American College of Physicians. Beyond her medical career, Dr. Towne is an individual of diverse interests and enjoys spending time in the beautiful scenery that San Diego has to offer. Her hobbies include sailing, distance running, playing beach volleyball, traveling, and cooking.
